One idea to stop the eye roll is to use current technology to bring old memory verse games up to speed.

Power Points

Computers are becoming more common in the classroom. If the church does not provide them, often teachers bring their own laptops in.

This has opened up many more options to reach kids through current technology, especially kids Bible games.

Incorporate technology whenever possible. Today's kids are used to it and expect it. Instead of resisting change, embrace it and allow the Holy Spirit to show you how to use tech. stuff creatively and effectively to reach HIS kids.

Bring classic Bible memory verse games (see above) into today's world using current tools such as Power Points.

If you can display it with poster, chalk, or white boards...chances are you can display it using Power Points.

In the above slides (from a Kickrickulum Tabernacle 1 lesson) Blanks were inserted into the first slide - then more blanks for slide 2 and 3.

Slides are shown one at a time and kids shout out the missing words. The complete verse is shown again and repeated. Repetition is the key to make the Bible verses for children stick in their hearts.

I can't say it enough...DON'T underestimate what you can do with the Holy Spirit's help to plant Bible memory verses deep in their heart! God is the Creator! Let Him fill you with ideas to get things rolling!

These are some very simple examples. Use them to get you started. Add variations each week. Find the memory verse games that click with your kids...tweak them and rotate them with other games over time.

Don't be afraid to use new technology to re-energize classic memory verse games.
