Bible Object Lessons Help You Teach as Jesus Taught
What Would Jesus Do?
Simple - He would use common objects at hand or familiar situations and events as He taught. Now apply it - Effective Bible object lessons use objects or events that kids commonly see or use.
Bible lessons for kids should have at least one visual object - ideally more - to illustrate and drive home your main points.
I'll say it again, get used to it!
Kid's need to experience not just to observe the lesson.

Bible object lessons should use the five senses - see
- hear
- touch
- smell
- taste
The more senses you can incorporate into your Bible lessons for kids the better!
What are some objects Jesus used?
Jesus used:
- coins
- fig trees
- fish
- salt
- light
- harvest time
- children
to name just a few. Jesus was never boring as He shared God's Word. We shouldn't be either! Be creative - allow the Holy Spirit to show you things around you that will complement and empower your teaching!
Don't just take a Bible lesson for children and use as is. Stop - pray - think and look around you. What do you have at hand that kids could relate to? What might drive that lesson point home just a little better? Think as Jesus thought!
But Doesn't That Take Time?
Yeah, when you create effective children's object lessons it takes more thought. Ultimately it takes more time too.
Give the Holy Spirit Quality Time
You can't wait until Saturday night or worse, Sunday morning to work on your lesson. Well...okay, you can but your Bible lesson for kids will simply not be as effective. Your mind isn't free to creatively muse and kick around ideas.
If you wait until the night before your lesson, you cut short the time the Holy Spirit can inspire you. And...let's face it, if you did get a great idea, do you have time to prepare and implement?
Bible object lessons require OBJECTS!
Let's say the Holy Spirit drops a really kickin' idea on you. But, it requires a trip to the store. Or...maybe your friend has the object and you can borrow it.
Cool, right? Yeah if it's Friday ...perfect! But it's Saturday night! Shoot, the store's closed! It's too late to call your friend!
Yep, there isn't a whole lot you can do with that idea now. I will talk about this over and over. Start early in the week and give yourself AND the Holy Spirit time to work.
There is no way around it...creative and effective Bible object lessons take time. But, your kids are worth it!
